County Health Rankings data spans more than 80 measures across the conditions that shape health. KHI translated the annual release into an individual profile for every Kansas county—giving communities a focused view of five-year trends and the drivers with the greatest local impact.

Consistency creates comparison.
The template holds its hierarchy across counties of dramatically different size and health context. Color anchors the two major groupings; a repeated structure lets readers quickly find what changed, what matters and where to go next.

The 2025 profiles evolved the established format with clearer grouping, stronger color and a more immediate county identity—while preserving the familiar comparison framework.

At the Kansas Statehouse, the profiles became tools for direct explanation and exchange—moving county-level evidence from the page into policymakers’ hands.

The national program at a turning point
Built for the moment.
Useful beyond it.
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation announced it would end funding for the national County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program after 2026, making the 2025 Annual Data Release likely its last. That national funding decision was unrelated to KHI’s Kansas profiles or their design. The profiles preserve the release as practical, county-level tools communities can continue to use.
